Tips & Tricks to score high in CBSE Entrepreneurship

Students, please understand there's no shortcut to success and there isn't any magic formula either. But yes, if you are determined, focused and ready to work hard, these tips will help you I am sure.
Entrepreneurship as a subject of study is comparatively new and that sometimes makes it difficult for some of you to decide and plan what to study and how to study so that you score high. So let's discuss the Do's and Don't...

1. Avoid mugging up- Over the past few years, there has been a lot a change in the education system, curriculum and pattern. Gone are the days of rote learning. Questions are more application based nowadays so as to enable students to face the challenges of life /work life with confidence and understanding and this I am sure you people must have also observed. So if you really want to score high, stop blindly mugging up. Understand the essence of the subject before you start memorizing it.

2. Get hold of the CBSE textbook fast- Some of you feel that reference books, guidebooks are a solution to every problem...these are the "shortcuts to success" but the fact is reference books are simply reference books and not substitute for the text prescribed by the board. If you have gone through the past years Boards question papers you must have noticed that there are quite a number of questions in which lines/statements from the textbook are quoted. So it would be foolish of you to not go through the textbook thoroughly.

3. Read the case studies- Case studies are real-life examples and encompass the different elements and aspects of Entrepreneurship. The more you study these the better will be your level of understanding. You might not have questions directly from the case studies but that shouldn't be a reason for not studying the case studies.

4. Identify keywords/ key terms/key points- Identifying keywords are important, these add weight to your answers, make it meaningful and helps you to score high. Remember to state the keywords followed by brief/detailed explanation depending upon the marks allotted. In most cases, marks are separately allocated for keywords and the explanation, so if you are missing out the keywords, you are missing out on the chances of scoring high.
5. Exercise your intelligence while answering - Do not over exaggerate an answer, in that case, you lose time and don't be a miser when the question demands an explanation because then you lose the chance of scoring full marks. So decide intelligently what to write and how much to write.

6. Stick to the syllabus prescribed by the Board- One thing's for sure, you won't be asked anything that is not there in the syllabus, so strictly stick to the Boards syllabus. Especially if you are sticking to a reference book make sure you thoroughly compare the chapters, topics of the reference book with that of the textbook.

7. State the numerical formulas clearly and correctly- Some students have the habit of solving a numerical directly without stating the formula. Do understand this is a bad habit that you need to get rid of. Formulas carry marks and therefore even if your answer is fully correct but without the formula then you surely miss out the chance of scoring full marks.

8. Show the workings clearly- Workings are to be clearly shown in case of numerals. Even if you feel the sum is too simple or can be orally/mentally solved then also do show the workings and calculations clearly.

9.Time management- It doesn't really matter whether it's a 70 marks paper, 80 marks paper or a hundred marks paper, what matters is how you manage 'the time', the 3 hours that you are allowed. To utilize time in the best possible manner you need to plan and practice. Remember the saying, "Practice makes a man perfect".

10. Past years Boards papers and Sample papers- Get into the habit of going through the Boards years question papers and the sample papers prescribed by the board. Visit the official CBSE website from time to time. Keep yourself updated. You can also go through different reference books which comes with a couple of sample papers. These will help you to understand the board pattern better.

I hope you will find these tips useful. Let me know what more you want to know about Entrepreneurship or any other commerce related subjects.

With Love,
